Financing
all types of exports by the engineering industry from the production of
machines and equipment for power plants or rail wagons and investment makes up
97% of the current CEB credit portfolio, which has now reached almost CZK 18
billion.
If the
provided credits are broken up by industry, the result is as follows: 53%
energy, 29% specialised technology for specific industries (glassworks, gas
refineries, printing machines, cement works, sugar refineries, etc.), 4% other
means of transport, i.e. in particular trams and ships, 3% engineering - linear
constructions (most recently in Montenegro and in Azerbaijan), and 3%
metal-working machines (classic "engineering equipment"). The rest is made up
of smaller items from various engineering areas. As of 31/8/2006 the Czech
Export Bank portfolio includes credits provided for financing exports to 25
countries. The diversification of the structure of support provided to Czech
subjects is also demonstrated by the following figures: credits for financing
production for export (as a rule short-term) forms 6% of the credits, credits
for financing investment also 6% and credits provided to small and medium-sized
enterprises 5%. Czech Export Bank will present itself at the fair as an
integral part of state support for exports that includes, apart from financing
and financial guidance, also consultation and marketing services (Czechtrade)
and, importantly, insurance for export risks (EGAP) that also multiply the
bank's capital strength. Bank representatives use the fair to meet
representatives of their current and potential clients, their foreign partners
and these partners' banks. Czech Export Bank will launch a new version of its
website for the fair on 15 September, where at www.ceb.cz it will try to
provide both Czech and foreign partners the maximum amount of information about
its product range, but also about its potential to provide them with support
during the contract preparation phase and about other possibilities for cooperation
with the Czech Republic. The Czech Export Bank is alongside the Czechtrade and
EGAP stands, located this year for the first time in the open area at pavilion

CEB provides Czech exporters with state supported export financing and financial services connected with the export of goods and investments, thus enabling Czech exporters to compete on the international market under comparable conditions to those enjoyed by their main competitors from other developed countries. All CEB activities are fully in accordance with WTO rules, the applicable OECD recommendations and European Union directives. CEB actively cooperates with other state support organisations, in particular with the Czech Trade agency, and uses EGAP insurance. The CEB mission is to support entrepreneurs through the most advantageous financing and not to maximise its own profits. CEB has the same rating as the Czech Republic.
